Pokémon Stadium is one of the most coveted N64 Pokémon games we have been pleading for, and Nintendo has heard our cries.

Why is this GAMEchanging?

Owning a Nintendo Switch offers numerous benefits, including a library of exclusive games like Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The Switch’s portability allows for gaming on-the-go, while its versatile design means it can be played on a TV or as a handheld console. Additionally, the Switch’s online capabilities provide access to multiplayer gaming, social features, and exclusive deals.

The advent of Nintendo now brings old favorite games back to life, such as Pokemon Stadium.

Pokemon Stadium is a video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 console. It was released in 1999 in Japan and North America and 2000 in Europe and Australia.

The game features 3D battles between Pokemon from the Game Boy games, allowing players to see their creatures come to life in a new way. It also features minigames, tournaments, and a gym leader castle mode where players can battle against AI-controlled gym leaders to become the champion.

Pokemon Stadium was well-received for its graphics, gameplay, and the ability to transfer Pokemon from the Game Boy games using a Transfer Pak.

Can’t wait!

Nintendo has revealed that Pokémon Stadium will launch on the Switch on April 12, 2023, after a protracted wait. But before you celebrate, bear in mind that access to this treasure trove of a classic requires a Nintendo Online Expansion Pack.

Even then, it seems like a little price to pay for the onslaught of nostalgia that is about to hit us. I, for one, am excited!

We’re getting the Pokémon Stadium we remember, so don’t worry that all the 1999 elements you loved have been tweaked or removed. Fans will be able to storm the Gym Leader castle, rage quit the mini games out of frustration, and compete for the chance to win one or more sparkling trophies.

A few extras, most notably 4-player online combat, have been added to the game to increase accessibility, particularly for new audiences.

I regret to inform you that there won’t be a service that allows you to move Pokémon into your Pokémon Stadium save, as tempting as it may be to start doing so.

Although our favorite teams from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet must stay in Paldea, fans can find solace in the knowledge that Pokémon Stadium isn’t the only vintage game from the series to be released on the Switch.

Despite no official release date being announced, Pokémon Stadium 2 has also been confirmed. One can only speculate as to whether this will then open the doors for other vintage Pokémon games, such as Pokémon Silver and Gold, which is still a “mind-blowing moment” for enthusiasts.

Nevertheless, it’s a wise and obvious step for Nintendo to eventually make, especially given the large fan base those titles still enjoy.

The wait for Pokémon Stadium won’t be too long, regardless of how long it takes to release the entire back library of Pokémon games. Remember the date, April 12, 2023, and perhaps take the time off from work you had planned.
