Update your security
To make sure their accounts are as secure as possible, Facebook users are advised to turn on three specific settings.
According to estimates, there were 2.9 billion Facebook users globally as of July this year. As a result, the network has added additional security options to reduce the possibility that any of these users’ accounts will be compromised.
To ensure that your security settings are as tight as possible, use the Security Checkup option.

The check will enable you to receive warnings when someone tries to access your account from a computer or mobile device that is not recognized.
Additionally, it will teach you the best password security practices and enable the optional two-factor authentication that increases the security of your Facebook account.
To start, go to Facebook and click the three lines to see the menu (or, if using a computer, click your photo symbol in the top right).
Before clicking Security and Login or Password and Security, choose Settings & Privacy, followed by Settings.
You may “Check Your Important Security Settings” from here. You’ll be directed to a screen that says: “You’re all set. No security actions are required at this time.” if your account is fully updated and secured.
However, there are three areas to consider if you still need to increase your security. The first step is to review your password to make sure it is secure and sufficiently complex.
After that, you can choose to use “two-factor authentication,” which sends you an email or a text message to confirm your account. Last but not least, “Login Alerts” will let you know if your account is logged into another device.
According to Facebook, “We’ll let you know if someone logs into your account from a device or browser you don’t often use.”
