Nineth episode of The Last of Us concludes the season with a nearly flawless score, leaving fans aching for the release of season two.
Praise for The Last Of Us!
The ninth and final episode of HBO’s The Last of Us’ debut season is titled “Look for the Light.” The episode’s script was written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, the show’s creators, and directed by Ali Abbasi. HBO aired the program on March 12, 2023.
While several episodes “deviate substantially” from the game, some dialogue was taken straight from the game. There are nine episodes total. Gustavo Santaolalla, who played a part in the game, made a comeback to write the music.
Together with the show, an official companion podcast hosted by Troy Baker was broadcast. HBO renewed the show for a second season, it was revealed on January 27, 2023.
Following Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler charged with accompanying Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a teenage girl, across a post-apocalyptic United States, and Tommy (Joel’s younger brother and former militiaman), the series is based on the 2013 video game of the same name, created by Naughty Dog (Gabriel Luna).
The series was shot from July 2021 to June 2022 all around Alberta as a combined production of Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint, and Word Games. The first season debuted on January 15, 2023, adapting the first game’s events.
Season 2. Now.
The ninth and final episode of HBO’s The Last of Us, perhaps the best video game adaptation of all time, debuted this week. The series scores appear to support those assertions.
Users on IMDB gave the concluding episode, “Look for the Light,” an excellent 9.4 rating. Also, with over 6k votes, 76% of people gave The Last of Us conclusion episode a flawless score of 10. Nonetheless, 164 users, or 2% of voters, gave the episode a score of 1.0.
Despite this, The Last of Us’ last episode didn’t have the best ratings throughout its first season. With a score of 9.5, “Endure and Survive” received the highest rating.
The two episodes with the lowest ratings are “Long, Long Time” (8.0) and “Left Behind” (7.4). We’ll let you fill in the blanks as to why those two episodes had the lowest ratings.
The Last of Us TV series received a 9.1 rating from over 272,000 voters as of the time of writing. In case you’re curious, Planet Earth and Planet Earth II, Breaking Bad, and Band of Brothers are the top-scoring TV shows on IMDB with a combined score of 9.4.
When can we anticipate The Last of Us season two now that the first season has concluded? In actuality, we don’t know when that day might come. Because to the phenomenal success of the first season, HBO has thankfully already renewed for a second season.
By extrapolating from HBO’s other titanic series, Game of Thrones, we may estimate that each new season would debut about a year after the previous one. So hopefully The Last of Us will see a replay of history.
