Netflix has unveiled a dramatic teaser trailer for its long-awaited zombie thriller Resident Evil, which will air this summer and adapts the hit video game and film property for television.
Providing More Variety
The project may provide Netflix with a tentpole undead drama in the spirit of AMC’s long-running smash series The Walking Dead, as well as a head start on HBO’s highly anticipated adaptation of another zombie video game title, The Last of Us, which is set to premiere in 2023.
How It All Began
In 1996, Resident Evil was released as a PlayStation game, followed by a film in 2002. Six more films followed, the most recent being Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which was released in 2021. On July 14, 2022, Resident Evil will make its global debut on Netflix.
