After watching Netflix’s newest hit film, viewers are asking for a trigger warning to be added at the beginning.

Trigger and spoiler warning

Those who have watched Luckiest Girl Alive on the streaming platform claim that viewers should have been warned that the movie contains exceedingly graphic material.

The gorgeous Ani (Mila Kunis) and her seemingly ideal life are the focus of this 2015 Jessica Knoll novel adaptation.

But as the truth about her terrible and mentally damaging teen years begins to light, not everything is as it seems.

Here’s your spoiler alert and trigger warning if you haven’t seen it yet.
As her peers and the grownups around her don’t believe what happened to her, the movie chronicles the retaliation and severe bullying she endured after being assaulted.

As her peers and the grownups around her don’t believe what happened to her, the movie chronicles the retaliation and severe bullying she endured after being assaulted.

She is about to get everything she has ever wanted as her past returns to haunt her.

But as ancient ghosts start to emerge from the shadows, she is forced to reflect on her own life and wonder if everything is really as it seems.

Many viewers have taken to social media to beg Netflix for a trigger warning because the movie contains some extremely realistic and violent images of rape and violence.

One commenter said: “That movie deserves a massive trigger warning. Actually, several. I did not realize what Luckiest Girl Alive was about before viewing it.”

“Hey gang, short heads up regarding Luckiest Girl Alive on Netflix,” the second person said. “The description says it’s about a school shooting, but the tale is also very much about rape and PTSD, and it’s done extremely truthfully and vividly.”

“Be careful watching Luckiest Girl Alive. It’s really triggering and may have revealed too much of the rape scenes, but has an outstanding performance by everyone involved,” added a third.

When Luckiest Girl Alive begins streaming on Netflix, a quick warning about “sexual violence” and “threat” appears at the top of the screen, but some feel this is insufficient.

Some contend that the trigger warning at the beginning of the movie should make it clearer that it contains “strong scenes of sexual assault.”

Some people have praised the movie and Kunis on social media for giving a fantastic performance while handling a very difficult subject.

I recently watched The Luckiest Girl Alive, and it was the most visceral movie I have ever seen dealing with rape, PTSD, and victim blaming. I felt uncomfortable in several parts of the movie and rightly so since we should feel uncomfortable blaming victims for what happened.

“Luckiest Girl Alive on Netflix offers a peek of what rape victims go through with all the victim blaming, slut shaming, the terrible anguish afterwards, and how pressurized the society is to just snap out of it and move past it,” said a second.

Thread carefully while watching, and enjoy of course!
