Elon Musk’s daughter is changing her name legally because she doesn’t want anything to do with her father. The daughter of the Tesla CEO has petitioned the Los Angeles County Superior Court to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, the surname of her mother Justine Wilson.
Behind It All
The 18-year-old says she’s changing her entire name to better reflect her identity and because “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form”.
Sparking the Fire
Although neither Musk nor Vivian have publicly discussed their relationship or her transition, some have speculated that her choice to alter her surname was influenced by Musk’s recent remarks supporting the transgender community.
How this plays out would differ on what the two have to say about the other, but in the mean time, Vivian is doing what she thinks best. And Elon on the other hand, could be dealing with a whole lot with Twitter and cryptocurrency at the moment!
