The Outcome

Several sources claim that projects starring Smith have been canceled or placed on hold. Bad Boys 4, the sequel to Bad Boys For Life, which has been in development for some time, was rumored to be one of those projects.

Still Moving Forward

However, Sony chairman Tom Rothman denied the story in a recent interview with Deadline, insisting that Bad Boys 4 is still in the works. Rotham elaborated. “That movie’s been in development and still is. There weren’t any brakes to pump because the car wasn’t moving.”

By far the most profitable installment in the Bad Boys franchise, Bad Boys for Life grossed $436 million worldwide. It was also the highest-grossing picture of the year, despite the fact that the majority of the world was on lockdown at the time.
