Everyone is aware of how terribly the debut of Cyberpunk 2077 went. The final product, which had errors, glitches, and floating automobiles in December 2020, was disappointing because CD Projekt Red had made several significant promises in the lead-up to the game’s release. As part of Crunchyroll’s annual Anime Awards, Cyberpunk 2077’s anime adaptation has awarded Anime of the Year.
Always Improving
Nonetheless, the game has since undergone a number of significant improvements and has grown immensely popular as a result of the release of its Netflix anime version, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It was a finalist for The Game Awards’ Best Adaptation honor last year, but Arcane: League of Legends won. But as Polygon notes, the series is finally getting its due now that it has won the Anime Awards.
Proving Their Worth
Industry veterans Studio TRIGGER, known for Gurren Lagann and Kill La Kill and for the exceptional quality of its works, released Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and they once again delivered. Cruncyroll’s 2023 Anime Awards have overall confirmed the dominance of industry heavyweights like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan while also highlighting the caliber of fresh, creative series out there.
Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 are in for a very exciting moment. The game’s Phantom Liberty DLC expansion and its as-yet-untitled successor are both currently under development. Phantom Liberty is expected to be released in 2023.
