Ahmed Best’s outstanding performance in the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian has earned Ahmed Best praise from Star Wars enthusiasts.

The Mandalorian

Jon Favreau developed the American space Western television series The Mandalorian for the Disney+ streaming platform. Taking place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983), it is the first live-action series in the Star Wars saga.

Pedro Pascal plays the title role, a lone bounty hunter who goes on the run in order to safeguard the Force-sensitive toddler Grogu. Following her participation in the second season, Katee Sackhoff also stars as the Mandalorian leader Bo-Katan Kryze beginning in the third season.

By 2009, George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, had started working on a live-action Star Wars television series, but it was determined that the project would be too expensive to carry out. In October 2012, he sold Lucasfilm to Disney. The development of a new Star Wars series for Disney+ then started.

Bravo

Ahmed Best, who played Jar Jar Binks, had a brief appearance in Carl Weathers’ season three episode “Chapter 20: The Foundling,” which delighted Star Wars enthusiasts. Jar Jar Binks is not the most popular character in the Star Wars universe, but he does have a little following (probably).

While playing a significant role in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Jar Jar Binks failed to engage the viewer because of his clumsy and fumbling behavior, which frequently put those around him in danger without their knowledge.

Jar Jar Binks had been reduced to a recognizable, silent extra by the time we reached Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Despite my dislike for him, I had some sympathy for the former banished Gungan.

Fortunately, Jar Jar Binks has been made right nearly 25 years after The Phantom Menace came out. Okay, sort of. Please be aware that I will be discussing spoilers for The Mandalorian’s “Chapter 20: The Foundling” before we continue. You have thus been forewarned.

We were brought to a flashback in the most recent episode of The Mandalorian at the point when Order 66 was given, causing a sad Jedi massacre.

The clone troopers invade the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where a (much younger) Grogu was hiding, in this flashback scene from Revenge of the Sith. A Jedi Master by the name of Kelleran Beq, played by Ahmed Best, snatched Grogu away to safety as he faced certain death while brandishing both a blue and a green lightsaber. Naturally, this led to Din Djarin meeting “baby Yoda” later on.

It’s interesting to note that Ahmed Best has already played Kelleran Beq, the Jedi Master. He also wore the robe in the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge event, where young contestants compete to win a series of games and advance to the rank of Jedi Knight.

Every Wednesday, The Mandalorian is broadcast on Disney Plus.
