According to Kanye West, he lost $2 billion in a single day as a result of several businesses cutting connections with him due to his anti-Semitic remarks. A few days after Adidas revealed plans to “terminate [its] partnership with Ye immediately” due to a number of comments the rapper has made recently, the rapper announced his losses in a post on Instagram.
Down the Drain
Due to West’s behavior, other companies have severed their relations with him, including Gap, CAA, and Balenciaga. Adidas is by no means the only one to do so. Adidas is said to have been the hardest-hitting loss for West, though each setback undoubtedly had an effect. According to Forbes, the sportswear company was responsible for $1.5 billion of West’s personal worth.
Still Holding On
When Adidas announced it was ending its connection with him, West lost his billionaire title as a result, but he has emphasized that the setbacks haven’t been the end of him.
With how far Kanye is willing to go, we’re uncertain what could happen with his status as a rich man and as a celebrity. We all have to wait what good and/or bad news that may roll his way and hopefully some cash comes rolling back in!
