But what do his supporters currently seem to despise the most? Chris Pratt, a famous actor.

Chris Pratt is an American actor born on June 21, 1979. He gained recognition for his role as Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation.” He has since become a Hollywood A-lister with roles in blockbuster franchises such as “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Jurassic World,” and “Avengers.”

Yes, the actor who received criticism on social media for failing to even attempt Mario’s accent in The Super Mario Bros. Movie will have another chance to portray a legendary member of popular culture, according to Deadline.

After it was revealed that Pratt would be the voice of the tabby cat, fans rushed to social media to express their displeasure with the star’s selection by the studio.

Mixed Reviews

As one commenter put it, “I think we can all be honest with ourselves and admit that even though Chris Pratt is playing Garfield, he’s more of an Odie.”

“NO NO NO NOOOOO GARFIELD, MY POOR BABY NO,” a second chimed in.

“Yet another example of casting the more popular person, not the best person for the role,” chimed in a third. Sadly, Hollywood will always have a serious problem with this.

Someone someone posed the straightforward question, “Who did he extort to acquire him these parts?”

One more user added a comment and posed the query, “Did all the other men in Hollywood lose their voices?”

Bill Murray and Garfield previously voiced the character on the big screen in two successful live-action/CGI hybrid movies.

On social media, many are now voicing concern that Pratt would tarnish the Jim Davis character.

They might be right, given that he mispronounced Mario’s famous accent in his most recent feature film. Pratt chose a more understated tone rather than a prominent Italian-American accent.

Fans of the original games criticized his portrayal when the teaser debuted last October, with some English-speaking viewers even suggesting they’d rather to see it dubbed in French. His choice didn’t sit well with them.

And Pratt did acknowledge he was’surprised’ by the negative responses to his performance, even before the Nintendo movie received a boatload of criticism over Mario’s voice.

Pratt wrote to Variety in an email, “To build the voice, I sampled several Italian and New York accents.

“As the directors and I worked on the character, we settled on a voice that is distinct from both Charles Martinet’s portrayal of Mario and mine.”

The actor continued, “My aim is that viewers will enter the film with an open mind and that, after viewing the film, any criticism regarding Mario’s accent will evaporate.

The actor has already urged fans to view the film before offering judgment, telling them that it’really honors’ the game.

Pratt admitted to ExtraTV, “In all honesty, the answer is that this is a passionate fan base, and I understand, I’m a part of it.”

He stated, “This is the soundtrack to your youth, and you don’t want someone to come along and cynically destroy it as a cash grab with the movie,” adding, “The movie really honors the video game.”
