According to CDPR, the New Witcher Game is for Netflix Show Fans

How about those announcements for CD Projekt Red? The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 developers unveiled a variety of intriguing forthcoming projects on Tuesday (4 October), throwing fans into a hype fever and the editorial staff at GAMINGbible into a writing frenzy.

New Witcher Game?

Five new titles in The Witcher series have been announced to be in development, ranging from the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, codenamed Orion (who’d have thought that’d be anything to get thrilled for back in December 2020, huh?) and a whole new “fully separate” IP, codenamed Hadar.

That’s right, five, the game formerly known as The Witcher 4 (now going by its codename, Polaris), will also receive two more sequels, forming a completely new trilogy. Then there is Canis Majoris, a whole game that is unrelated to the new trilogy and will be created by a different firm.

The game will feature “multiplayer gameplay on top of a single-player experience comprising a campaign with quests and a plot,” according to Project Sirius, which is being developed by The Molasses Flood with support from CDPR.

According to CDPR’s business development SVP Micha Nowakowski, as quoted by GamesRadar+, this game intends to appeal to a larger range of fans, such as those who have only watched the Netflix series.

In a Q&A, Nowakowski stated that “Project Sirius is absolutely not a smartphone game” (via GamesRadar+).

“When we discussed it, I believe that we were actually thinking about broader demographics, which implies that we wanted to connect with people that we weren’t necessarily effectively connecting with through the Witcher games that we’ve been creating so far.

So picture viewers of the TV show who may not necessarily enjoy playing intense RPG games with gloomy themes. Therefore, this is much or less how that was thought of.
