Over 200 Land Rover Defenders that a guy bought a few years ago are now being sold for hundreds of thousands of pounds.
What’s the hype?
A four-wheel-drive off-road SUV, the Land Rover Defender is produced by the British automaker Jaguar Land Rover.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10, 2019, the automobile was unveiled. Being the first completely new Defender, it breaks the engineering chain with its predecessor, a descendent of the original Series Land Rovers of 1948, and is noteworthy for this reason.
Compared to its predecessor, Defender’s target market is one that is more upscale.
The Defender is the newer model of Land Rover Defender (1983-2016). The vehicles are constructed in Slovakia at the Jaguar Land Rover Nitra plant, a production facility that debuted on October 25, 2018. The factory has a footprint of approximately 300,000 square meters.
It’s not a poor investment
It turns out that it wasn’t at all a poor investment.
Twisted, a British business that customizes Defenders and sells them to customers, was founded and is run by Charles Fawcett.
People are now prepared to pay up to £220,000 to possess one of the cars since he purchased a large number of them right before they ceased production in 2015.
Naturally, these 4×4 cars aren’t just any ones; Charles customizes them to meet the needs of his customers.
Additionally, none of the vehicles have more than 30 miles on them, so it’s essentially like purchasing a brand-new automobile.
Charles bought them straight from the manufacturer since they are all based on the XS Spec, which at the time was the top-tier Land Rover Defender.
He stated to The Sun: “To see the people constructing the vehicles, I visited the Defender assembly line in Solihull.
“The chassis numbers and production dates of these sixteen 110s were carefully considered.
“They were all registered in 2016, which makes them among of the final models produced and, possibly, more collectible.
“They are unique when Twisted and have particular qualities.
“Therefore, the limited edition is known as One of One.”
These 16 vehicles aren’t your typical go-to transportation, but they would have cost you roughly £35,000 if you wanted to purchase one in 2015.
There is a variety of engines, including diesel or petrol, along with improved brakes, suspension, wheels, and tires.
Along with leather, soundproofing, and a respectable infotainment system, the Defender S offers the kind of comfort that you would not have anticipated from the first Defenders.
As long as it is possible, Charles claims that you can very much have them however you want.
All 16 will be Twisted, but how precisely will depend on the way of life and preferences of the participants, he stated.
The Twisted method is to collaborate with individuals to design a Defender that is the best match for them, as opposed to telling them what their Defender should be.
You can purchase one for £135,000 plus VAT for the diesel variants and £184,000 plus VAT for the more potent petrol ones.
You may purchase one now and have it delivered the following year if you want one made specifically for you.
