Danger. Falling objects.
It’s a sure hit film
After watching one of the streaming platform’s movies, Netflix users have reported feeling frightened and wobbly. Below is a link to the Fall trailer:
Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank are the director and co-writer of the 2022 survival thriller Fall. The movie, which stars Mason Gooding, Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardner, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is about two ladies who scale a 2,000-foot (610-meter) radio tower and get stuck at the top.
Lionsgate Pictures’ Fall had its American theatrical debut on August 12, 2022. Critics gave the movie generally positive reviews, praising Mann’s direction, the mood, cinematography, suspense, and the performances of Currey and Gardner, while criticizing the screenplay, special effects, and pacing. The movie was a financial success, making $21 million worldwide against a $3 million budget.
Not for the fainthearted
As you can probably guess, this movie isn’t one to watch if you have vertigo or are afraid of heights because the majority of the action takes place very high up on a massive radio mast.
In order to scatter the ashes of Becky’s late husband Dan, who perished in a climbing mishap, two friends named Becky and Hunter climb up a huge tower.
Okay, we understand the symbolism behind all of that, but is it really essential to ascend something much riskier in order to recall the memories of that first climbing accident?
Yeah, it most certainly is for the action in this movie.
Naturally, things don’t always go as expected.
It won’t be a spoiler if I tell you that as they ascend, the rusty radio antenna ladder breaks, leaving them stuck hundreds of meters above the ground with no phone service and no chance of rescue.
The most of the drama occurs here.
In addition, there are some rather significant plot twists in the film; it’s not just two women conversing with one another while running for their life atop a tall pole, it’s important to note at this point.
But we don’t want to give it away.
Four actors play the only characters in the August 2022 movie: Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey as Becky and Hunter, and Mason Gooding and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Becky’s husband Dan and father Jeffrey, respectively.
Fans have flocked to social media to discuss how upsetting it was ever since it debuted on the streaming platform.
“Absolutely don’t watch this movie before bed,” one person advised. I feel very uneasy right now.
Another said: “I’ve never felt more nervous while watching a movie than I do when watching Fall on Netflix.
“I’m going to dream horrible things.”
If you have a fear of heights, I wouldn’t recommend watching Fall on Netflix because I just dropped a pound through my hands.
Even Netflix commented on it in a tweet, writing: “Nearly every single shot from Fall (2022), a movie about two women who become lost after scaling a 2000-foot radio tower, will leave you feeling a little unsteady.”
But if you enjoy intensely suspenseful movies involving grave danger, which many people do, you may have found the perfect movie for today.
Fall is currently available to stream on Netflix if you’d like to watch it.
