Next Tuesday, the Los Santos Drug Wars update will debut on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC (13 December). It’s exciting to know that this is only the first installment of “an epic new two-part story update,” as described by Rockstar.

In the first half of a comprehensive new two-part narrative update for GTA Online, Rockstar promised, “Fight off a strange alliance of affluent hippies and trigger-happy bikers while mixing up strong hallucinogenics – in fancy labs or out of your own huge mobile chemical set.”
In addition to new tasks, cars, and businesses to manage, this update will also include new experience enhancements. In order to get into the Christmas mood, players need brace themselves for “major plot and gameplay changes” as well as some “jolly holiday escapades.”
It’s hardly GTA VI, but it’s good that Rockstar has kept GTA Online getting such important improvements all these years after the game’s debut. It’s just bad that Red Dead Online cannot claim the same.
We’ll have to wait and see if The Criminal Enterprises, the DLC update from July that for some reason included a genuinely frightening quest, can be topped by Los Santos Drug Wars.
