People claim that one well-known horror movie from 2007 contains the most shocking story twist they have ever seen.

What’s the fuss about?

It’s Halloween time, which means that some people carve pumpkins and gather candy while others spend the entire month watching horror movies nonstop in search of the finest one ever created.

Some believe that movie to be Frank Darabont’s adaptation of Stephen King’s famous tale The Mist.

The movie’s premise, for those who aren’t familiar, is one of the most terrifying things you could possibly imagine: “After a strong storm damages their Maine home, David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his young son head into town to gather food and supplies.

Soon after, a thick fog rolls in and engulfs the town, trapping the Draytons and other people in the grocery store. Terror mounts as deadly creatures reveal themselves outside, but that may be nothing compared

If you think that sounds terrible enough, wait until you hear the twist.

The twist in the 2007 movie is therefore significantly darker than it is in the original novella.

Without giving anything away, the novella ends considerably more cheerfully than the movie, which sees David and his family eventually leave the town only to run out of petrol as they approach one of the dangerous animals.

David decides to shoot his family to death with a gun because he is unsure of how to get away and wants to spare them the terrible destiny that awaits them outdoors.

But they don’t appear. The U.S. army instead begins to advance as the fog clears, assisting other survivors in fleeing.

So it’s a good movie.

David, distraught that he slaughtered his family for nothing, falls to the ground and yells.

I certainly enjoyed The Mist (2007) to the point that I saw it three days ago and I’m still thinking about it frequently. And the movie’s finale really stuck with moviegoers, with some recalling it years later and taking to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person stated the movie taught them the value of waiting, while another remarked, “We just watched the Mist (2007) and the moral that we have settled upon is that sometimes it’s good to wait a few minutes.”

And while I’m at it, The Mist (2007) is a GOOD movie, period, end of the discussion, a third person said.
