Following this week’s episode of The Last of Us, fans are clamoring for Bella Ramsey to win an Emmy. Ramsey plays the feisty and pun-loving 14-year-old Ellie, who links up with Joel (Pedro Pascal), a skilled survivalist as they travel through the Nation as it is decimated by a fatal epidemic. Joel and Ellie attempt to endure the gloomy midwinter in the eighth episode, the penultimate adventure of the first season.
An Emmy Worthy Performance
After being ambushed by a bunch of raiders in episode six and dealing with a stab wound that Ellie tries to treat, Joel is still hurt. Ellie abandons Joel to go food hunting, and after taking down a deer, she exchanges the animal for penicillin with fellow hunter James and the priest David. They chase Ellie in an effort to track down Joel and get revenge after it is quickly learned that Joel was stabbed by a member of David’s gang. Ellie manages to flee, but she is soon apprehended and brought to David’s camp, where they make an effort to kill her. She murders James and runs away.
Doing Great
When David hunts her down, she manages to beat him off and eventually murders him using a butcher cleaver, leaving her horrified. Fans praised Ramsey’s great performance on Twitter on Sunday after the program aired. The plaudits kept flowing as a Twitter user penned: “Bella Ramsey DEVOURED in episode 8 of The Last of Us give her the Emmy likeee.”
The first season of The Last of Us has just one episode left to air, but fans don’t need to worry because HBO has renewed the show for a second season. More time for fans to want more and eventually build up hype for the second season too, this could mean huge things for the series and producers, and that’s a good thing. So far, there has been more of good news regarding the series and we’re certain that HBO would like to keep it that way and to keep going in that direction as it seems they really hit the target when they started this project!
