Naughty Dog’s new-generation remake’s graphics initially caused some skepticism among players, not because they were subpar but rather because they were unique. Since then, especially with a recently released trailer, Part I seems to have won people over with its recreated surroundings.

Something Familiar

The new-gen remake’s aesthetic definitely looks to place The Last of Us Part I on level with its sequel, which is consistent with the trailer’s suggestion that Part I was inspired by the gameplay and visual design of Part II.

And Something New

Since Naughty Dog has kept the gameplay of the remake under wraps until now, I have a sneaking suspicion that fans will be really excited to see it. Now let’s all take a pause and appreciate Ellie’s savagery during the melee finisher. A lot of us would even classify that as an enhancement.
