An official release date has been set for The Batman – Part II, Matt Reeves’ follow-up to The Batman. The much awaited sequel to Robert Pattinson’s noir-infused performance as the Caped Crusader will be released on October 3, 2025. The announcement was a component of Warner Bros’ introduction. The overarching Discovery strategy for the new DC Universe and its numerous side initiatives, at least one of which stars Batman.
Having a Plan
The Batman will be a trilogy, according to DCU creators James Gunn and Peter Safran, who also revealed the premiere date. James Gunn had then stated: “Matt is working on (The Batman – Part II), which he thinks of as a Batman crime saga, which also includes the Penguin TV series. And it is its own thing and he’s hard at work on that. He came in and pitched us some amazing, really cool stuff the other day. So our plan is for that to continue.”
What’s to Come
Safran continued, “”And Batman’s not a stepchild. I mean, it’s all under DC. We are fully invested in the success of the Batman, just like we are everything else.”
Reeves had apparently been considering making The Batman a trilogy since at least 2019, and he had previously spoken about his plans for a comprehensive Batman storyline. It was established earlier this month that the films are independent of Gunn and Safran’s new DC Universe.
