For the PlayStation 5, a recreation of Silent Hill 2 as well as additional games and perhaps a new film are in development. The remake was the main announcement in Konami’s Wednesday presentation of its upcoming Silent Hill lineup. Bloober Team, a Polish video game firm that also created Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and The Medium, is in charge of developing this remake.

Modernizing It

The remake will be built from scratch with updated aesthetics, an over-the-shoulder camera angle, and other contemporary features while maintaining the original’s charm. Bloober Crew is collaborating with the original Silent Hill team to recreate the game, including composer Akira Yamaoka and illustrator Masahiro Ito.

More to Come

Konami also disclosed further Silent Hill titles that are currently being worked on. Neobards Entertainment will work on Silent Hill F, while No Code Studio will work on Silent Hill Townfall. Another Silent Hill film, Return to Silent Hill, with a focus on the events of Silent Hill 2, is also in the works. The new movie will be directed by Christophe Fans, who also helmed the 2006 Silent Hill film.
