According to reports, Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie will co-star in the Ocean’s Eleven prequel for Warner Bros. According to Puck News, Gosling and Robbie are in discussions to work on the project. That happens immediately after the live-action Barbie film directed by Greta Gerwig has finished filming.
Knowing More
The Hollywood Reporter reported that it is an original addition to the series and that the events are place “in Europe in the 1960s,” however the studio is still keeping the plot’s details a secret. Production is expected to begin in the spring of 2023 under the direction of Jay Roach, with Tom Ackerley, Robbie’s LuckyChap business partner, serving as a co-producer.
On to Bigger Things
If authorized, the prequel’s budget would be “much bigger” than that of other Ocean’s movies, such as Ocean’s 8, which had a $70 million budget. The report further states: “The new movie feels good and summery and doesn’t come close to the $200 million Netflix spent on Gosling’s The Gray Man.”
With the pair doing so well in Hollywood recently, it would be no surprise if they pull off something great yet again in this movie. For the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see if any more news comes up with the casting and the movie itself so stay tuned!
