The latest trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian has been out, and it shows Grogu using the Force to defeat an adversary as well as Din Djarin and Grogu being reunited and traveling to Mandalore. Before the start of Season 3 on March 1, 2023, the trailer was unveiled during the NFL Wild Card Game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Main Points
We catch glimpses of many of the characters who will be in this new season, including aliens like a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard and Anzellans. The trailer starts with Din Djarin speaking about what it means to be a Mandalorian and how he’s going to Mandalore so that he may be “forgiven for his transgressions.” If the name Anzellan is unfamiliar to you, they are the same species as Babu Frik from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We also catch a glimpse of the co-pilot droid for Djarin’s N-1, which could very well be R5-D4, the robot that Owen Lars bought from the Jawas before R2-D2 in A New Hope.
More Surprises
The trailer also shows a large number of Mandalorians who will participate in the upcoming battle for Mandalore, a shot in a bar full of droids like Astromechs and B-1s, and what appears to be Din Djarin urging Grogu to become more actively involved in protecting himself as he says, “this is the way.” Oh, and we get a glimpse of a flashback to what appears to be Order 66 as a group of Jedi preparing to engage a We know someone who played a significant role in emptying out the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, albeit we’ll have to wait to find out what is behind that door.
Although this video is jam-packed with hints about what to expect from Season 3, Bo-Katan is conspicuously absent. Bo-Katan now feels threatened by Djarin because he now has the Darksaber. The Mandalorian is just one of many Star Wars-related projects that fans can look forward to in 2023, along with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars: Ahsoka, upcoming episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and many more.
