A Bit More Detail

Conroy, who was born in Westbury, New York, in 1955, fell in love with acting when he was 17 and received a full scholarship to study drama at Juilliard. Additionally, Conroy recently postponed appearances at cons in August and September owing to circumstances “beyond his control”.

The Iconic Character

As the voice of Bruce Wayne and Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, Conroy landed the job that would ultimately define his career in 1992 after a succession of TV appearances. Conroy has come back to take up the character of the Dark Knight in a number of films, video games, spin-offs, and other projects, notably Rocksteady’s highly regarded Arkham trilogy.

Since then, other Batman family members including author Paul Dini have used social media to post their own tributes. Conroy is, and always will be, The Batman to his adoring admirers all around the world and without a doubt, will be greatly missed.
