Following a report that suggested he would be making amends with Disney, Johnny Depp has addressed rumors that he will rejoin the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. Depp starred in the original five Pirates movies, but it was not anticipated that he would return for the presently in development sixth installment.
For Johnny
According to a source quoted in a PopTopic article from June 27: “Disney is really interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp.” According to the story, Disney was drafting a $301 million contract for Depp as “a formal apology” and a means of re-entering the franchise.
Not of the Hook
Depp spoke about his relationship with Disney in court and said while testifying that the studio “cut ties” with him to “be safe” because he was being accused of being a “wife beater.”
One of Johnny’s representative had claimed that all recent rumors were false. After which, the actor said, “They didn’t remove my character from the rides. They didn’t stop selling dolls of Captain Jack Sparrow. They didn’t stop selling anything. They just didn’t want there to be something trailing behind me that they’d find,” indicating that Disney did not completely remove the character of Captain Jack.
