After learning that the Large Hadron Collider at CERN is going to be put back into operation, conspiracy theorists have gone into overdrive. This has raised a lot of claims and one that could really freak out the entire world!
The Fear
If you didn’t know, the LHC, as we’ll refer to it from now on, is about to begin smashing pieces of matter together at a nearly unfathomable rate for the first time since 2019.
How It Works
The Higgs boson, a kind of subatomic particle sometimes called the “God particle,” was found by the LHC, though most physicists aren’t too fond of that moniker. Scientists at CERN are currently intensifying their efforts and colliding more protons in an effort to understand more about the fundamental elements of our cosmos.
It will begin operating around-the-clock starting today, shooting microscopic particles of matter along a 27-kilometer loop beneath the Swiss/French border. The universe will be thrust into a “new timeline,” which, in the opinion of the skeptics, will put humans at risk of “falling behind.”
