Following his appearance in a recent TV miniseries, fans believe Taron Egerton is prepared to play Wolverine. Black Bird, the latest Apple program starring the Rocketman actor, has seen the actor bulk up.
Fitting the Role
People believe the actor is in good enough shape to make a crossover into the Marvel Cinematic Universe based on images of him appearing extremely ripped in the miniseries. It’s interesting to note that the idea of Egerton playing Wolverine is not totally eliminated.
His Dream Role
Recently, the Welshman suggested that Marvel might be moving in that path. He said, in response to The New York Times’ query on whether he might portray the venerable superhero, “I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. “I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it.”
For a while now, there have been cries for Egerton to portray Wolverine. Even back in 2019, the actor addressed the rumors. The 32-year-old said to Variety soon after Feige revealed that the X-Men property would join the MCU: “I love Marvel and I love the movies and I’d love the excuse to get in shape.”
