Thank you for making us want to be the very best
Fans of Pokémon are mourning today! Ash Ketchum and Pikachu are saying goodbye to the Pokémon anime series after more than two decades of excitement, joy, and sorrow.
The announcement was made on Friday, December 16 by The Pokémon Company. An 11-episode series named Pokémon Aim To Be A Pokémon Master, which will premiere on January 13, 2023, will conclude Ash’s last chapter.
After the trainer was reunited with his Butterfree in the most recent episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series on Friday, the news was even more emotional for the viewers.
After 25 years, Pokemon’s main character Ash Ketchum and his devoted companion Pikachu are departing the program.
It happens when the protagonist realizes his desire to “be the absolute best, like no one ever was,” becoming the world’s finest trainer in the process.
The perennial 10-year-old has suffered setbacks and losses throughout the anime series, which featured over 900 animal-like characters called Pokemon that can be captured, taught, and used in combat.
Liko and Roy, along with three other Paldea starting Pokemon, will serve as the primary characters of the anime show’s upcoming second season.
Since 2006, Sarah Natochenny has voiced the English versions of Ketchum and other characters, calling it “an unbelievable honor.”
No matter what comes after his final chapter, she said in a tweet, “he’ll live eternally in the hearts of many generations to come.”
I’ll do all in my power to keep him here for all of us.
Ash and Pikachu’s joint exploits will be remembered in a compilation of unique episodes.
According to the show’s creators, they would be the “last chapter” for the couple but would “give a look at what the future may contain” for Ash.
The new season “will showcase everything [fans] love about Pokemon anime, including action, adventure, friendship, and Pokemon,” according to the producers.
The Pokemon series originally gained popularity in the UK after the advent of the trading cards that allowed both kids and adults to trade and battle Pokemon.
Numerous electronic games, notably the augmented reality smartphone game Pokemon GO, which let players “catch” Pokemon in their homes and on the streets, were played alongside the long-running TV program.
Surely this isn’t a permanent farewell? We’ll come across Ash someplace working as a trainer or gym director, right? We’re sobbing more now than we ever did when Pikachu was hurt.
When Ash triumphed in the Manalo Conference of the Alola League earlier this year, he, at last, earned the title of Pokémon world champion.
With the introduction of two new trainers, Liko and Roy, as well as the three starting Pokémon from the games Scarlet and Violet in a new series set in the Paldea area, Pokémon will now give fans someone fresh to root for.
According to a promo, Brock and Misty will appear in the eleven special episodes that finish up Ash Ketchum’s narrative and premiere in Japan on January 13.
