Following a request from Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, Elon Musk said that Starlink is already operational in the country. Assuring them that more terminals’ are on the way, this would massively help the situation of the country.
Having a Back Up Plan
The Russian invasion has seriously impacted Ukraine’s internet access. According to reports, the country’s southern and eastern regions, where combat has been the most intense, have been particularly hard impacted. While satellite technology is expensive to set up, it can offer internet to those who live in rural or difficult-to-reach areas where fiber optic cables and even cell towers are not available.
Swift Responses
Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister took it to Twitter to seek help from the multi-billionaire and has made it a point to let Elon know of the troubles over at their country. Shortly after, Elon had replied to his tweet and assured him of the help he would provide. Not only is this a swift course of action for Elon but it would massively help out those in need over at Ukraine.
