Jackie Chan, one of the stars from Rush Hour, has stated that he is in discussions for Rush Hour 4. The 68-year-old martial arts hero appeared at the Red Sea International Film Festival, according to Variety, and said that production on Rush Hour 4 is already beginning. He revealed, “Rush Hour 4 is what we’re talking about right now.” Though it still is unclear when we would get a Rush Hour 4 release date.

A Cut Above the Rest

According to reports, the impending Rush Hour sequel has been in the works for a long; Chris Tucker revealed in 2018 that a fourth installment was planned. At about the same time, contradicting what the producers indicated, Brett Ratner declared he would be making the movie. Then, Jackie had said, “It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”

A Load of Laughs

Who will direct Rush Hour 4 is still unknown, however Rush Hour producer Arthur Sarkissian stated that Ratner was “not attached” and added: “All I’m interested in is to make the best movie possible.” Chan, though, still has pleasant memories of the original film’s popularity. “I got a phone call. From New York, Chris Tucker and Brett Ratner called me,” he stated. “They’re crazy. We were $70 million in the first weekend. For me, I don’t know how to count.”

Chan and Tucker both returned for Rush Hour’s two sequels, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3, which brought in a combined $244 million at the box office. Chan remarked, “There are so many good action stars. My action is better than some other people, not because I’m really good, but because I write a script suitable for myself. I can use the camera angle to make my action better. At night, I go home and edit myself and use those kinds of things to make my action better.”

Chan had also pledged to make more romance films and fewer action films despite appearing to return in Rush Hour 4.
