Fans have been clamoring for a sequel to Todd Phillips’ Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, since its premiere. The 2019 movie, based on the popular DC superhero, garnered Phoenix an Oscar for his outstanding performance. And now there’s an exciting new update for the impending sequel flick. According to reports, Lady Gaga is in talks to play Harley Quinn in Joker 2.

Something New

Lady Gaga is being considered for the role of Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck aka Joker, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Aside from the massive casting announcement, it was also confirmed that the film will be a musical.

Making It Work

While no agreement has been reached just yet, Lady Gaga would be an excellent choice for a Joker musical. And because Todd Phillips’ films aren’t part of the DCEU, the position is up for grabs. And it’s possible it could be Lady Gaga.

We all have to wait for more news regarding the casting of Lady Gaga to be Harley Quinn. While that happens, there could be more surprises in store as a recent announcement has also been made regarding the upcoming Joker sequel.
