In the United Kingdom, music lovers got a double dose of star power when Johnny Depp strolled onto the stage and picked up a guitar during a Jeff Beck concert and belted out some tunes and treated everyone out to some of his skills and talents on the stringed instrument.

Quite the Surprise

When the Pirates of the Caribbean actor joined Beck on stage to sing “Isolation,” fans said it was “fantastic.” In 2020, the duo recorded a cover of John Lennon’s song.

Doing Well

As Depp’s highly-publicized defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard played out in court, their cover song re-entered the charts. Beck’s unannounced visit in Sheffield sparked outrage on social media, with users split on Depp’s appearance.

Although the Pirates of the Caribbean star is most known for his acting, he is also a musician. He worked with Jeff Beck throughout lockdown and played guitar for Alice Cooper’s side project band The Hollywood Vampires for several years. Depp’s surprise entrance came just as his legal team was wrapping up their defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
