Hi,well my history,i have often smoked when drinking for the last 10yrs,and maybe a few for a couple of days later but over the last week this has changed. I hadn’t one for 6 weeks and often go that long, would have been know for having a few when very drunk but have gone through about 80 in the last 7 days,21 on Saturday and 9 yesterday.Got up extra early this morning and really sucked one in with a vengeance, was divine:-)
didn’t smoke at work and never will, but couldn’t wait to get home and have one, felt like i needed it badly and felt great having it–again total relief.Have had 3 more in the last 4hrs,and after about 30mins start to feel a tightness in the chest and really desire one.My housemates know now and said that i need to get an ashtray now:-)I have hidden it before but an now just leaving my ciggies on the table in front of them and playing with my lighter etc which feels really cool and kind of rebellious.I have 6 left and am actually thinking will 1 be enough for when i wake. I can’t believe it but am honestly wondering am i now a smoker, this fills me with fear and excitement at the same time as i’m not sure that it’s what i want or have control of now,but i think i might be liking it:-)Yes you are a real smoker now. Your body has just told you it needs you to smoke.
When I realized I was addicted, I had the same conflicting feelings but realized smoking was what I wanted.
Embrace your addiction, buy a carton so you know you have enough cigarettes. If your housemate knows just smoke as much as you want. If you can turn your housemate into a smoker too.
Welcome to the club! Can’t believe it but it kind of marlboro gold carton feels like i have gone through a door that may be shut behind me into being a smoker.Actually thought about not having one this morning after waking up but within 5 mins i was getting one into me and again it was divine:-) started to crave during work maybe evrey 20mins,and succumbed at lunchtime and had one alone as nobody knows, great relief, have just come home and had one really fast–feel way better now.I honestly cannot see that i won’t smoke another 7-8 before bed and am already wondering when i will need the next trip to the shop.God i feel i have to smoke now which is all new, still not 100% sure if this is addiction as it hasn’t happened before–it’s really exciting though … but think about whether you really want to open it again. Unless your posts are totally fake, it sounds like you have become a smoker. You’re experiencing the beginning of the love-hate relationship with the habit, but you keep finding yourself coming back multiple times per day because you hate the way not smoking has started to feel, and love what smoking provides to the contrary. You are at least a bit addicted to smoking, and it only gets better from there. Once you accept what you have become, your new life will be filled with a cycle of craving and satisfaction. And you’re right, it IS exciting. Go ahead and go to the shop, don’t take a chance that you’ll find yourself without a cigarette when you want one. (Plus, like Brad said, buying cartons is the way to go — for one, they’re cheaper that way, and you don’t wind up purchasing from gas stations and other places with huge markups on prices.)Many people go from smoking while drinking to full-time smoking. You’re definitely hooked, and as you said, it feels great. Just enjoy it. No regrets. Welcome to the club. Jay — http://prosmoker420.blogspot.com/thanks for the comments and advice, yep i see no turning back to be honest, every 20 mins tonight i’m lighting up and only realised how hard i’m dragging every one, also they don’t seem to be long enough anymore which i have never thought before.Thinking of chaining 2 before sleep, and 2 in the morning and 2 at lunch tomorrow, feels like i have no option which is a bit scary almost.I’m not tastin or smelling the smoke that much now either and it goes down really easily, and enjoyably.I’m think i’m definitely on the slope:-)(and secretly loving it:-)!!Glad to hear you are loving it. Nicotine has definitely grabbed you, and the stranglehold will only strengthen with time. And you’re right – once those hooks are in you, you have no option. That feeling may be a little scary right now, but with a more time, the scared feeling evaporates as you accept and embrace the fact that you are a smoker. Enjoy this time as you slip into addiciton – it only happens once.Just buy a carton, surrender to your new reality, and relax. It’s a lifetime commitment, and your nicotine longing and the blessed relief of cigarette after cigarette will become as normal to your life as breathing.I don’t really know what’s happening now, started to regret it and only had 2 yesterday, had no cravings all day until evening and after all the posts about reds i caved and got my fist box of them from curiosity.Very different and of course it was a BIG relief to have the first one 2.5 hrs ago.Just had another but don’t believe i am an addict or maybe i am wrong. It was very hard to not have the last one though and i feel a bit better now.May try and not have anymore tonight and possibly stop this weekend as i am unsure about all of this still. The red was stronger and i did not feel the need to inhale so deeply. What happens next i don’t know:-)Thaks for the comments from people who may know what i’m experiencing and can advise the most likely outcome from here…So,had 6 reds tonight, not enjoyable at all to be honest, let’s see wat the morning brings, craving or no interest anymore as i was very disappointed with them, wrong cig or losing interest/addiction…You got what you wanted. You’re now a smoker from what you wrote. It will be very difficult for you to lay off the smokes now, but it is possible. It sounds like you are going through the doubting phase right now. Dont worry, its too late to change anything now, you are a smoker and you cant do anything about it. It will be far easier for you to just accept the fact that you smoke and start enjoying your new habit. Fighting the urge to smoke now is completely futile and will just leave you confused and anxious. Remember, the only possible way to get relief now is to continue smoking, obey or you are going to be in for a really tough time…. you might have overdone your body’s ability to enjoy smoking… it happened to me a few times in the past two months. I’d smoke more than a pack, simply because the opportunity was there (different amount may apply to you, depends on how long you’ve been at it, brand, lots of other factors). I think what was really happening the next day was that I was sort of over-saturated, like my mind, mouth, and lungs wanted more smoke, but my body wasn’t actually ready. So, I felt ill, a bit of a cough, and a general feeling of not wanting to eat, nausea, etc. And I didn’t want a cigarette for anything. It sounds like you have definitely experienced cravings, so you are at least mildly addicted. Trying Reds, while a fabulous brand and my personal choice, might have not been the right idea for you just yet, ESPECIALLY if you try to match smoke for smoke with whatever you were enjoying before. They are stronger both in smoke density and nicotine, so it might be that your body responded with a “turn off” message. Suggestion: go back to your previous brand, and see what happens for a while. Only smoke a few, see if you experience a comfort and familiarity. If you want to experiment with other brands, stick with lights for a little while, give your body time to get accustomed. Then, if you want, try a full flavor, but be willing to smoke a few less for several days. Any change of brand/style, from what I’ve heard, takes some time.
It could be (though I can’t fathom it, lol) that Marlboro Reds might never be the smoke for you. The important thing is that you do enjoy smoking, and this is probably just a phase. Once you accept the addiction for what it is, the doubt will slip away every time you light up.I went back to Marlboro gold, not a reds fan at all–getting back into it now 11 today and the cravings are slowly returning,we will see what happens next What is happening with you progression? I love to smoke and can’t get enough….have you made it there yet? What brand are you smoking, have golden virginia tobacco you tried Marlboro Gold 100s?I had not smoked for 10 days until tonight but had 3,very enjoyable, don’t know where i am at now…Pretty common for new smokers, torn between being an occasional smoker and a full-on regular customer. You’ll never be a non-smoker again… even if you go years without one.
You obviously enjoy smoking, regardless of how many, how often, or when. You’ll feel a lot better about yourself if you just accept that. It doesn’t mean you’re some sort of sick addict, just that you have learned to enjoy smoking. Once you’ve tasted the forbidden fruit, though, the thoughts of coming back to it will always be there, even if only a little.
My advice: become friends with a smoker, or talk a friend into trying one. Smoking is a lot more enjoyable when you don’t feel like the only person in the world who enjoys it. Maybe you’ll start smoking regularly, maybe you won’t. It really doesn’t matter, as long as you’re enjoying yourself.Woke up this morning really needing one and have had 3 already, god i realise how much i enjoy it again:-)Bud, you just need to relax. You are working yourself up and getting tense for no reason. It wont accomplish anything at this point. It is over. You said it yourself. You are really enjoying your cigarettes. You just need to let go. Embrace it and let yourself enjoy it. Stop fighting a battle you cant win and dont want to win anyway. Right now your body is demanding and requiring a steady stream of nicotine and damn it feels good to satisfy it doesnt it? You are at a juncture right now with only one possible outcome. Now there is a hunger of a primitive nature raging inside your body. You have awoken a sleeping giant who likes being awake and to whom you have no control. That is the physical aspect. The mental/psychological aspect of acceptance and pleasure takes a little more time. I am thoroughly convinced you are physically addicted. Eventually it will be a non-issue. I bet over those 10 days that you didnt smoke that you definitely thought about it didnt you? I have no doubt you really wanted one am I right? The rational you is slowly being conditioned into submission by the primitive giant that is giving you physical pleasure from nicotine. That is the internal struggle, which in itself is pleasurable as you learn to let go. Re-read your posts. The rational you is already reasoning in favor of acceptance and submission. You have been cornered by a giant closing in fast making demands of you and your attention. You have less and less wiggle room because through your journey you stopped to give the giant your attention instead of running while you could and now there is nowhere to run. Just relax. Stop trying to rationalize. Stop thinking about it and stop fighting. Recognize and accept that this is a good thing. This is a Braveheart moment! Look the giant right in the eye and beg him to take you. Tell him that you willingly surrender to him from this point forward. Actually say this to yourself if you need to. The sooner you do this the sooner complete contentment will come. Then you will begin to experience and really enjoy the psychological and mental addiction very quickly. By that I mean the strong associations which will begin to form such as the tactile feel of holding a cigarette, the aroma of a burning cigarette which will become pleasing to you, the enhanced taste of both tobacco smoke and coffee, the compliment of a couple of cold beers with a cigarette, the realization of how much you enjoy the taste you have acquired(which was initially sickening, nasty and the most vial and disgusting thing you could have ever imagined), the feel of the smoke filling your lungs, these things will begin to take on pleasures of their own completely independent of the chemical addiction, but just as strong. So I go back to my first statement. Relax buddy .You are at the end of what has been an awesome journey. The struggle is over if you choose for it to be. And I think that is the choice you really want to make isnt it? In a little more time all the concerns and fears associated with smoking slip away. This is because as the addiction strengthens your brain will start releasing feel – good chemicals like dopamine which give you a powerful sense of well being and reward when you smoke. See how thoughtful nicotine is? It only gets better. You are now within an awesome cycle of intense cravings which you must satisfy to get your reward and release the tension the cravings built up. This cycle repeats several times through the course of the day, for some more than others.
Now you are armed with all you need to know to start working on your housemate and introduce him to the pleasures you are experiencing. I really think at this point it would do you a lot of good to encourage him to give it an honest try. We can design a plan to navigate him through the steps you yourself have successfully completed. It would serve to reinforce your addiction and give you the confidence you need as well. Hell never know what hit him. He has already witnessed the pleasure smoking rewards you with and no doubt is curious. We just need to bring his curiosity out into the open and discuss it. Then hes ours. The best encourager for a newbie is someone still excited from the experience of being enlightened. Please keep us updated as you allow the psychological addiction to take hold and Newport Regular Cigarettes firmly seat itself. Now, all that from someone who quit smoking ten years ago. Wait a minute, hang on. I can affirm that a person who has quit smoking is simply a smoker who has made a conscious choice not to smoke, but still enjoys his addiction..from time to time. I have found these posts interesting and they have got me seriously considering starting again more regularly as the memory of the pleasure is powerful and never leaves you.The first smoke of the day is the best for me…have one before my feet hit the floor. How is it going? What brand are you smoking?I wouldn’t worry about becoming addicted. If your addicted, so what? Smoking is obviously something you have been curious about for a long time, and something that you enjoy at least some of the time. There’s nothing better than a smoke when you really need one, or when a stressful situation pops up, or hanging out with friends having a few drinks. It really isn’t so bad. If you enjoy it, why worry about it? Smoking isn’t nearly as bad for you as the anti-smoking zealots make it out to be… Just give in, and enjoy, and quit worrying about what people will think about you. If you truly are addicted, then what’s the other option? To address the “Wake Up” response to my reply within this post, I’m pretty sure I’m back in the fold. Had a dinner with co-workers, had a glass of wine and was feeling good and relaxed. I haven’t had nicotine in my system for several years but on the drive home it was all I could think about. Stopped and picked up a can of natural Grizzly and took a pinch……and it was awesome! Pure heaven. Can’t really describe how good it was to get a little nicotine back in my blood. Incredibly relaxing. As I have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease my diet has been unbelievably restricted. No wheat, no gluten, no grains of any kind, no dairy etc. You get the picture. I have been afraid of putting anything into my system that might contain gluten My resent research seems to conclude that snuff is free of the real poison for me, gluten. It is pretty much a given that the paper used in cigarettes contains gluten. Although Marlboro Reds were my cigarette of choice, I really think I could fall in love very quickly with dipping on a regular basis. Although I have dipped here and there it was far more enjoyable than I remembered. Thumbs up to a more than sufficient nicotine delivery system.I use smokeless pretty regularly, in addition to smoking (it goes back and forth about which I prefer). As far as the gluten problem goes, I’m not sure if it changes into something else in the burning process, but smoking may or may not affect your Celiac’s. The one advantage to dipping is that it’s a more potent dose of nicotine, and until your addiction ramps way up, you can dip less frequently than smoking without feeling cravings. Dip cravings are much harsher than smoke cravings, though, in my opinion, mainly due to the strength of the nicotine. For me, nicotine from a dip is like a total “head shot” of buzz, while smoking is more of an all-over feeling, but more mellow.
In any case, welcome back to the world of nicotine addiction, and finding your own way to satisfying cravings. If you really want a nicotine buzz, throw in a big dip of something fairly strong, like Grizzly Wintergreen. I only use the stuff when I can’t smoke. Be warned, though, if you use it regularly, you’ll be hooked in no time. I know a lot of people who have quit smoking, but no one I know who dips has been able to stop A normal size dip packs the nicotine of something like 5 cigarettes. Guys who dip a can a day are getting the nicotine of 4 or 5 packs of cigarettes. It’s not a wonder they can’t quit.it’s NY eve–and i’m going to smoke so much tonight 6hrs of marlboro light indulgement ahead, thanks for all the comments:-)I have now realised i am a fulltime smoker:-) Smoking about 10-15 Marlboro Lights per day and don’t want to stop, guilt has gone and the biggest worry now is counting how many i have left!!Thanks all,no further updates needed:-)相关的主题文章:
