It appears that not everyone is happy with the debut of the highly anticipated Harry Potter video game. In a “antisemitism” controversy over a plotline in the game, gamers have threatened to boycott the eagerly anticipated Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy when it releases next year.
An Interesting Plot
According to the PlayStation description of the game, players will have the ability to “decide the fate” of the magical realm and will be faced with morally challenging decisions that “determine what they stand for.”
The Hot Topic
Critics claim that Hogwarts Legacy will also include a “potential rising goblin insurrection” and that players will face up against a “oppressed race that are striking back against their own” in-game enslavement’.
The most recent Harry Potter game allows players to tour Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the Forbidden Forest from the books. It is set in the late 1800s. On February 10, 2023, Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version will follow later.
