Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Deadpool 3, have assured fans that the Merc with a Mouth’s MCU debut will not be “Disney-fied,” as they’re working on an R-rated script. Reese and Wernick, who wrote the previous two films and are currently working on Deadpool 3, argued that Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox had no bearing on the tone of the third.
Picking Up Where They Left Off
They also stated that Marvel has been “incredibly supportive” of the upcoming R-rated sequel. This is an excellent way to create the tone and also to recap what happened in the prior two films.
Making Sure of It
Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, previously stated that Deadpool 3 would join the MCU and that the film would be R-rated. “They’re not gonna mess with the tone,” Reese and Wernick emphasized once more.
Deadpool 3 will have Ryan Reynolds’ antihero mercenary up for another brutal adventure, this time directed by Shawn Levy, who previously worked with Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project.
