The horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey gave Craig Dowsett a fantastic role, but the actor was keen to caution that it wouldn’t be a pleasant experience to witness.

So fasten your seatbelts because you’re about to see the beloved bear like never before:

The movie’s trailer, which debuted today, shows that everyone’s favorite honey-eating bear will become a vengeful, murderous monster.

The Slasher flick is based in England and is not your typical kids movie anymore. The magical Ashdown Forest where the beloved Winnie The Pooh is not the same anymore. There are a variety of changes including bloodthirsty and demonic characters that use chloroform to kidnap someone on a jacuzzi.

The beloved children’s characters really took on a dark turn for this movie, in fact, the post production was still eerie to shoot.

The independent film, which is helmed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, aims to seriously chop through your childhood with an axe.

If the movie’s plot wasn’t clear from the trailer or if you’re wondering what it’s about, Pooh and Piglet go on a violent rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them.

Additionally, we spoke with actor Craig Dowsett, who plays Winne the Pooh, who stated the movie packs a punch.

“When I first read the script I knew this was going to be special! It left me stunned, amazed, and excited.”

“I then knew straight away that playing the role of Winnie the Pooh in this horror retelling was going to be an epic journey.”

What is involved in that mighty trek through the 100-Acre Woods?

It’s really intense, as Craig explained: “Viewers can expect a serious storyline with lots of violence and gore, not for the faint-hearted.”

Although the movie’s release date has not yet been determined, Craig hinted that a sequel might be forthcoming: “The director had already spoken of his desire to run a sequel so only time will tell with that, but yes I would definitely be interested in being a part of it once again.”

The rest of the cast should be just as thrilled to return since the movie looks hysterically spooky.

The most lethal dynamic pair we’ve yet to see is Chris Cordell as Piglet alongside Craig as Pooh Bear.

Amber Doig-Thorne, Danielle Scott, Maria Taylor, Danielle Ronald, Natasha Tosini, May Kelly, Paula Coiz, and Natasha Rose Mills round out the rest of the cast.

If you’re wondering, Disney doesn’t hold the rights to the adorable bear that we’re all familiar with. Disney no longer has exclusive rights to the character, so slasher fans can now enjoy it.
