For good reason, Willem Dafoe is regarded as one of the best and most renowned actors in the world. He has acted in several timeless films over the years, like Finding Nemo, The English Patient, and Platoon, to name a few. Willem Dafoe, a well-known actor in Hollywood, is entirely open to playing the Joker in a future Batman film. And for us fans, we just beg you DC, seriously, make that happen.

Perfect for the Role

He even acted opposite James McAvoy and Daisy Ridley in the interactive, real-time horror video game Twelve Minutes. Yet for some, his portrayal of Norman Osborn, a.k.a. The Green Goblin, in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, is what has comic book fans’ hearts. In addition, Dafoe came back to steal the show in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. It’s also important to point out that Dafoe has appeared in Zach Synder’s Justice League remake as well as Jason Momoa’s Aquaman as Vulko.

Same Thoughts

In light of this, it’s safe to say that Willem Dafoe is a very flexible actor, even when it comes to comic book adaptations, and it appears that he wants to continue this pattern. Moreover, in a prior interview with GQ Magazine, Willem Dafoe disclosed that he had fantasized of playing the role opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of the Joker in 2019. Aside from that, fans all over the internet have taken it upon themselves to state that Willem Dafoe could be a great Joker and that it could also match his looks.

Now, where do we see Willem Dafoe fit in if he were to play the Joker in the future? So, it appears that Matt Reeves’ The Batman movies, in which Robert Pattinson plays the Clown of Gotham, have given Barry Keoghan the part. We do know that a brand-new, standalone Batman film, which will be a part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe and be inspired by The Brave and the Bold, will be released. Batman and Robin have not yet had their roles cast as of the time of writing. Also, Willem Dafoe is the best candidate to play the Joker because he plays a significant villain in The Brave and the Bold.
