The first trailer for the new Mission: Impossible film has just been out, and it looks fantastic. Christopher McQuarrie will write and direct Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the series’ seventh installment.
About Time
The seventh and eighth Mission Impossible films were first confirmed in January 2019 as being in development. Part One, however, has been delayed significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Lot Going On
In addition to reprising his role as Ethan Hunt, Tom Cruise will also serve as a producer alongside McQuarrie. Since 2011’s Ghost Protocol, we’ve had to wait the longest for a new Mission Impossible film, so perhaps it’ll be worth the wait. There hasn’t been a formal summary released yet, leaving fans to figure out what’s going on as best they can.
