The terrible news that prominent Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade passed away today following a fight with stage 4 cancer is breaking. It was reported to his 10 million subscribers last year that Technoblade, whose true name was Alex, had been diagnosed with cancer. He had mostly abandoned his uploading schedule while undergoing chemotherapy for the illness.

A final video titled “so long nerds” was posted to his channel on June 30. In it, Technoblade’s father stated that his son had tragically departed just eight hours after writing his final message to his fans.

Technoblade, who was most known for his work with the Dream SMP Minecraft server where many well-known YouTubers would congregate and collaborate on content, gained a sizable fan base as a result of his warmth and charisma.
