Throughout her 70-year reign, the Queen has made a significant impact on many people’s lives, including musician Snoop Dogg, who claims she once came to his “defense.”

A Huge Deal

Snoop talked to DJ Whoo Kid earlier this year about a moment in the mid-1990s when he was allegedly “banned” from the UK by residents who were worried about his continuing murder prosecution. Snoop traveled to the UK to perform during the trial, but was faced with negative press headlines.

The Saving Grace

Snoop informed Whoo Kid about the response he received: “They kicked me out, the UK!  But guess who came to my defence?” Whoo Kidd misidentified the “Prime Minister,” to which Snoop retorted,  “The Queen, n***a. The queen said, ‘This man has done nothing in our country. He can come. The queen, n***a, bow down. When the queen speak, bow down.”

Snoop then added: “That’s Harry and William’s grandmother, ya dig? You think they weren’t there, saying, ‘Grandma, please let him in, Grandma. He’s OK. We love his music.”

“‘You know Harry, I’ll let him in for you. He’s not so bad after all and he’s quite cute.’ Yeah, let me in!.”

“Ya dig? Thank you Queen, I love you baby. The Queen, that’s my gal.”
