Velma, the Scooby-Doo spin-off, is now the proud owner of an unwelcome accomplishment, which is sad for the Velma creators. The show, which stars Mindy Kaling as Velma, Constance Wu as Daphne, and Sam Richardson as Shaggy, just debuted on HBO Max a few weeks ago. Velma, with a strong emphasis on Velma Dinkley, serves as the beginning of Mystery Inc., according to its creators.

What Set It Apart

In the ten-part series, Velma looks into the multiple killings of young local girls while simultaneously attempting to uncover the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. However, Scooby is absent for the first time in a Scooby-Doo series, disappointing many fans. Additionally, numerous admirers and critics of the movie have been expressing their opinions online through reviews that have been posted since the movie’s debut. Velma is regarded on IMDb as the worst animated TV series ever, thus it would be an understatement to say that the vast majority of people do not like it.

Heading South

Velma now has a shockingly low rating of 1.3/10 stars, which is lower than the previous lowest-rated animated TV program, Santa Inc. from 2021, which had a rating of 1.6/10 stars. According to IMDb ratings, Velma is presently the third-worst TV series of all time, trailing only the musical romance Iste Bu Benim Masalim and the documentary The Pogmentary about footballer Paul Pogba. Another review aggregation website, Rotten Tomatoes, has also noted Velma’s terrible performance.

The show has a paltry 6 percent viewer rating and a 50 percent critic rating. While many movies on the review aggregate have a 0% audience score, a 6% shows that viewers don’t particularly appreciate it. Many people then used social media to express their opinions about Velma as a result of this. Perhaps producers and writers have to come up with something pretty soon if they want to keep their show going for the long run.
