Selena Gomez has responded to criticism for failing to acknowledge her buddy who gave her a kidney in a recent interview.

There’s that clap back

Gomez discussed her ongoing lupus health issues in her Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me, and how meeting her friend Francia Raisa, who gave her kidney in 2017, was a “gift.”

When the two first met in 2007 while visiting a children’s hospital, Gomez told Raisa, “I am forever thankful to you,” in a thank-you note in 2021.

However, Gomez discussed her difficulties forming friendships with really famous people in a Rolling Stone article.

“I never fit in with a cool bunch of girls who were celebrities,” she remarked.

“Taylor [Swift] is basically the only friend I have in the [music] business, so I remember feeling like I didn’t belong,” she continued.

E posted the remark made by the Only Murders in the Building star on Instagram! news with a comment Raisa allegedly made on a picture of Gomez and Swift.

Despite the comment appearing to have been removed, screenshots show Raisa leaving a response with the word “Interesting.”

Soon after, criticism of the singer for failing to acknowledge her buddy appeared in comments on an Instagram picture of Gomez and Raisa shortly after the life-saving kidney transplant procedure.

However, Gomez did not hold back when she learned of these remarks.

A number of people, however, were quick to defend Gomez, writing: “Selena released a documentary on mental health & this woman is unhappy Selena didn’t name drop her as a close friend in a Rolling Stone interview, when Selena claimed she’s like family to her. Selena isn’t the bad guy here, at all! ”

One person said: “I hope they mend their ways. It’s apparent something happened between them. I don’t get why people are calling this lady names and saying she is chasing clout like be serious when Francia’s feelings are just as genuine as Selena’s. ”

Raisa appears to have stopped following Gomez on Instagram as well.
