The long-awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop, now named Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, apparently started filming. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige will join Eddie Murphy in the project.
Fourth Time’s the Charm
According to Deadline, the fourth installment in the Beverly Hills Cop series is now progressing as production on the Axel Foley sequel has begun. Mark Molloy is directing the upcoming episode from a screenplay written by Will Beall.
Pending Projects
The new film, for which Netflix officially bought the rights in 2019, reportedly has executive producers Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Ray Angelic.
However, the project has been in development for a while due to failures in a prior effort at the fourth franchise entry and the failure of a separate spinoff series due to negative fan response.
