In an effort to find new revenue streams after experiencing years of rapid growth, Netflix is intensifying its efforts to charge users for using shared accounts. According to the streaming service, customers in five countries in Central and South America will need to pay an additional fee each month to add a “second house” to their accounts.
Some More Bad News
The corporation disclosed its first subscriber loss in more than ten years earlier this year. The company is required to publish an update on its members along with its financial results, and it is anticipated that this report will highlight the decline in subscriber growth.

In addition to cracking down on password sharing in an effort to increase revenue, Netflix has stated that it will test a less expensive ads-based service.
According to Netflix, users can always change their profiles to remove their residences. Additionally, Netflix plans to test out several fee structures before implementing them globally as early as the end of this year.
