One of the biggest questions surrounding the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series has recently been resolved: how did Johnny “Soap” MacTavish come by his moniker?

That’s a cool nickname, Soap.

One of the most well-known Call of Duty characters is Soap. Soap made his debut in the ground-breaking Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and thereafter starred in a series of Call of Duty missions before tragically passing away in Modern Warfare 3.

The Modern Warfare series was revived by Infinity Ward in 2019, and it was immediately apparent that this was a new universe where previously deceased characters might return for brand-new adventures.

Because of this, Modern Warfare 2 has brought back characters like Ghost, whom people currently like, and Soap, whom I believe people, including Price, already liked.

The long-standing query of why people nickname him Soap has a solution with Soap’s comeback to the Call of Duty universe. And no, it isn’t because he has a pleasant scent. Despite the fact that I’m positive he’s a good-looking young man.

Fans immediately noticed a unique operator bio for Soap in Modern Warfare 2 that explains everything.

So here’s the bio for Soap that goes: “moniker born of hazing and ribbing that has become a badge of honour as he remains the youngest candidate to pass SAS selection in Royal Army history. He earned the nickname ‘Soap’ for cleaning house with remarkable speed and accuracy in room clearance techniques and urban warfare tactics. He is competitive, daring, and always looking for a win.”

That’s a really cool nickname.
