The late Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous Emmy Award for his performance in Marvel’s What If…? as Star-Lord T’Challa. and has added another achievement to his amazing career, which ended far too early.

Disney+ has shown a multitude of new marvel superheroes projects which are not really based from the iconic comics. But the scripts and the voiceovers of the characters are truly remarkable.

Boseman received the honor at the Creative Arts Emmys presentation on Saturday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. He died in 2020 at the age of 43 following a battle with colon cancer.

Marvel Studios expressed gratitude to the Television Academy for honoring the exceptional work of the late Chadwick Boseman on Twitter using the hashtag “Emmys.”

In a category with other brilliant actors like F. Murray Abraham from Moon Knight, Julie Andrews from Bridgerton, Maya Rudolph from Big Mouth, Stanley Tucci from Central Park, and What If…? Wright, Jeffrey For her role in Archer, the late actress Jessica Walter received a nomination as well.

What an Honour!

According to Deadline, Boseman’s late husband’s wife Taylor Simone Ledward collected the award on his behalf and spoke briefly about the accomplishment during the program.

“When I learned Chad was nominated, I started thinking of everything that was going on in the world and our world and being so in awe of his commitment and dedication and what a beautiful moment that one of the last things he would work on was something so important to him and to the world but also something new,” Simone Ledward said. “You can’t understand your purpose unless you ask what if? What if the universe is conspiring in my favour? What if it’s me? Chad would be so honoured and I am honoured on his behalf,” she said.

What If..? featured Boseman in four episodes. , such as “What If… The Watcher Betrayed His Promise? “What If…?” Tony Stark Was Rescued by Killmonger? “What If…?” Zombies?! , “What If,” and Was T’Challa a Star-Lord Before? .’

For his work in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Boseman received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama. He was up for Best Actor at the 2021 Academy Awards for the same role, but Anthony Hopkins of The Father won.

Although a different actor will play the title character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Boseman’s influence can be seen throughout the film in the stirring and potent first teaser.
