It has officially been announced that Henry Cavill won’t be portraying Superman in the DC Universe. He previously broke the hearts of Witcher fans everywhere by stating that he would be leaving the role of Geralt.

What’s in line for Cavill?

With parts in the movie versions of The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and I Capture the Castle, Cavill launched his acting career (2003).

Later, he played minor roles in various TV shows, such as The Inspector Lynley Mysteries on the BBC, Midsomer Murders on ITV, and The Tudors on Showtime. Since then, he has made appearances in movies including Tristan & Isolde (2006), Stardust (2007), and Immortals (2011). He has been in the espionage movies The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015) and Mission: Impossible – Fallout since his breakout role as Superman (2018).

Cavill participated in both sports and theatre at Stowe. In a 1999 school production of Grease, he played a member of the T-Birds, and in Dogg’s Hamlet, produced by his Grafton house as part of an inter-school theatre festival, he played the title character.

A rugby match in 2000 introduced 16-year-old Cavill to actor Russell Crowe, who was filming in Stowe for the movie Proof of Life. The actor gave Cavill a box after giving him some acting advice. Later, the two actors collaborated in the film Man of Steel.

He’ll make a strong Bond

When Henry Cavill announced that he will not be reprising the role of Superman, all of the conversation among fans has been about his departure from the character. Cavill, however, said that he had lost the James Bond part in 2006’s Casino Royale when he thought he would be coming back to play Superman.

Many people have wished to see Cavill portray James Bond in addition to his Man of Steel persona. They had no idea that he had a good shot at landing the role of the top secret agent; the actor has now admitted that Daniel Craig beat him out at the last minute.

“Peter [Safran] and I have a DC slate ready to go, which we couldn’t be more over-the-moon about. We’ll be able to share some exciting details about our first projects at the beginning of the new year,” said James Gunn, the new co-chairman of DC Studios, on Twitter. Henry Cavill won’t be portraying Superman since the first portion of our tale will center on an earlier period of his life.

That being said, Henry Cavill can now play James Bond, correct? “, tweeted director of photography Stephen Ford. “The next James Bond ought to be Henry Cavill. Literally the only option,” tweeted @timmythorpev1. “I don’t know whether I’m that upset that Henry Cavill parted ways with Superman or The Witcher; none of them are my [favorite] roles from him. Instead, I fell in love with Napoleon Solo from U.N.C.L.E., and I believe he needs to collaborate more with Guy Ritchie. The time has come to make this beautiful man James Bond,” commented @youngrouniverse.
