El Muerto, a Spider-Man spin-off film starring Bad Bunny as Marvel’s first live-action Latino lead, has been revealed by Sony. El Muerto will be released in theaters on January 12, 2024, and has been introduced by Sony Motion Picture Group president Sanford Panitch at CinemaCon.

Behind the Role

Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, a Puerto Rican musician, producer, actor, and professional wrestler, goes by the stage name Bad Bunny. El Muerto is a super-powered wrestler whose mask and talents have been passed down through the generations in the comics.

Those familiar with Spider-origin Man’s history will recall that his adventure leads him to the world of wrestling, which is where these two characters first meet. Sony also unveiled the title of the third Spider-Verse film, as well as the sequels to Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, alongside El Muerto.

While there are many fans excited for the news regarding the movie, a lot of them are also thinking about Bad Bunny’s skills when it comes to the huge role he would take. Only time will tell how well this would all come out to be.
