The former Batman confessed that he’s always wanted to play in a galaxy far, far away in a recent interview, however, his choice of the role is… niche, to put it mildly.

An actor of Bale’s calibre would have been thought to be the ideal choice to play a wise Jedi master or perhaps a menacing Sith lord. A man with his talent could undoubtedly provide the gravity needed to play the upcoming major villain in the Star Wars universe. But he doesn’t want that.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Christian Bale revealed that he had always dreamed of playing the Stormtrooper from A New Hope who smashes his head on the door frame by accident at the beginning of the film. Fans cherish this legendary, if obscure, moment as a priceless piece of Star Wars mythology.

In a Star Wars costume, Bale stated, “all I ever wanted to do was walk across a room and bash my head on a door or whatever.”

I wanted to play the Stormtrooper who knocks his head on the door as he enters the building because “the genuine nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if soon we saw a ten-episode Disney Plus event devoted to explaining why that specific Stormtrooper smashed his head, given Disney’s infatuation with Star Wars prequels and meaningless background.

And just because Bale is focused on playing that particular role doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be open to taking on a different role in Star Wars. important.

The actor remarked that joining the franchise in any way would be “such a thrill.” I also know Kathy [Kathleen] Kennedy very well because she worked with [Steven] Spielberg when I made Empire of the Sun, and she now oversees the Star Wars universe. I still have the action figurines I had as a child.
