Currently, Andrew Garfield is still involved with Marvel. Garfield is returning for more after his instantly iconic team-up with the Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire portrayals of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Oscar-nominated actor has signed a contract to return for additional Marvel movies, according to a source.

Just in Time

The timing of this news may reveal a lot about Andrew Garfield’s future involvement with Marvel. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming major event will be based on the 2015–16 Marvel Comics mega-crossover, Secret Wars, as Kevin Feige only just last week all but confirmed.

Doing More

Actually, there is no reason why Andrew Garfield should be restricted to the Marvel character that we are already familiar with. In other words, he was capable of portraying different Spider-Man characters. In fact, this may help to explain how and when Miles Morales will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is a subject fans have been asking for a long time.

Marvel Studios would be unable to adapt Secret Wars on the same scale, but regardless of how much of it they adapt, they will undoubtedly require far more versions than they have ever needed for a single movie. This is where Andrew Garfield’s return to Marvel comes in.
