The Big Reveal

Josh Gordon and Will Speck, the co-directors of Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, are now touring the media giving interviews for their upcoming film, a musical adaptation of the same-named children’s book. The next project for Speck and Gordon will likewise be a musical, but this time it will be based on the well-known educational life-simulation game Oregon Trail, the duo announced in an interview with Collider.

An Interesting Game

Old-school text adventure game Oregon Trail was first made available in 1971. You take up the role of the group’s leader as you move down the Oregon Trail, a wagon path that connected Kansas with Nebraska and Wyoming. The route was extremely hazardous, and participants had to manage their own health, food, and supplies.

Fans should anticipate that the musical will also have grim humor given how quickly players killed in Oregon Trailer.  “It always had this dark band of humor running through it, because your chances of dying from everything from dysentery to a cut to anything was. Basically, every move you ended up dying,”  Gordon threw in.
